Talking about the AGV car market and its application of navigation and sensor technology

2021-11-25

As one of the most active areas in the robotics industry at present, AGV robots have blossomed in industrial applications in recent years. In the logistics industry, AGV has become an important equipment in the logistics and warehousing link. AGV is an automatic guided vehicle. The AGV field integrates multi-disciplinary research results such as sensor technology, mechanical engineering, electronic engineering, automation control and artificial intelligence. It can be described as a master of mechatronics.

AGV generally guides the trolley to travel along the specified path through two automatic guidance devices, electromagnetic or RFID. As an important tool to realize flexible and automated logistics transportation, compared with other material transportation tools, AGV does not need to be fixed by complicated track laying and bracket base.

At present, AGV trolleys can be combined with control systems, traffic control systems, etc. to realize single-machine offline or multi-machine networking at the same time. .

On the whole, at present, the growth and application of the domestic low-end AGV market is rapidly spreading, and the demand for heavy-duty AGV suitable for indoor and outdoor applications will also increase rapidly. Common AGV cars will use a variety of navigation positioning and sensor technologies.

In the application field of AGV navigation technology, it has developed from a fixed path to a free navigation path, which also means that AGVs are becoming more and more intelligent. Today, the navigation technologies commonly used in domestic AGV cars include autonomous laser navigation, inertial navigation, magnetic navigation, differential GPS navigation, etc. Some of them already have mature practical application cases, and some already have market application conditions. For example, one of the more commonly used navigation methods at present is the combination of magnetic sensors and RFID tag identification.

As the nervous system of AGV, the application of intelligent sensor is an important indicator to test whether the AGV product is sensitive. In addition to using traditional sensing technologies such as position, speed, and acceleration sensors, general AGV robots will also integrate data provided by new intelligent sensors such as machine vision and force feedback to assist decision-making motion control, so that AGVs can adapt to more complex Application Environment.
