Compared with ordinary warehouses, automated three-dimensional warehouses have many advantages, mainly in the following aspects:

1. Provide space utilization efficiency

The automated three-dimensional warehouse can make full use of the vertical and horizontal space in the warehouse to achieve high-density automatic access, and the storage capacity per unit area is more than 5 times that of ordinary warehouses. For example, we store one cubic meter of goods. One square meter of ordinary warehouse cannot store one goods, because space for storage of goods needs to be reserved; but if it is an automated three-dimensional warehouse, it can be stored vertically, and the height can be increased according to the design of the warehouse. With many storage layers and automated storage, the reserved storage activity space is much smaller than that of ordinary warehouses. In addition, the land utilization rate has been improved, which reduces the storage area and effectively reduces the investment cost of infrastructure.

2. Improve the quality of goods storage

In the automated three-dimensional warehouse, in the process of inbound and outbound operations and cargo scheduling, the vertical warehouse is combined with the roadway setting, using coordinate management, and monitoring the goods in real time through the warehouse management system. However, automated three-dimensional warehouses inevitably have some shortcomings. Compared with ordinary warehouses, the biggest disadvantage of automated three-dimensional warehouses is that the initial investment is huge (manpower, material resources, and financial resources), and equipment maintenance costs are high. However, in terms of long-term benefits and comprehensive benefits, automated three-dimensional warehouses have late-mover advantages and rational economic value.
